Is It Time For a Nerve Evaluation?

If you’ve been living with pain, weakness, or unexplained symptoms—and nothing has worked—it may be time to consider your nerves. The conditions we treat are often missed on scans, mislabeled as muscle or joint issues, or dismissed entirely.

Are you experiencing any of the following?

  • Pain that gets worse with sitting, walking, or movement
  • Numbness, tingling, or burning in your pelvis, legs, or face
  • Chronic groin pain that’s been called a “strain” or “sports injury”
  • Headaches that start at the back of your skull or neck
  • Facial asymmetry or difficulty blinking, smiling, or speaking
  • Swelling or heaviness in your arm or leg after cancer treatment
  • Pain or dysfunction after surgery with no clear explanation

If even one of these sounds like you, we’re here to help.

FAQs

What types of conditions do your Florida surgeons treat?
We specialize in nerve-related causes of chronic pain, paralysis, and functional loss—including rare or misdiagnosed issues like pudendal neuralgia, phrenic nerve injury, piriformis syndrome, occipital neuralgia, neuropathy, and facial paralysis. Many of our patients come to us after other treatments haven’t worked.
How do I know if my symptoms are nerve-related?

Nerve conditions often mimic orthopedic or muscular issues. Common signs include:

  • Pain that worsens with sitting, movement, or specific postures
  • Burning, numbness, or tingling in the pelvis, limbs, or head
  • Muscle weakness, asymmetry, or unexplained loss of function

If you’ve had clear scans but still don’t feel right, your nerves may be the cause.

What can I expect from the evaluation process?
You’ll meet with a fellowship-trained nerve specialist who will review your case in detail—including your history, symptoms, and prior tests. We may recommend additional imaging or diagnostic nerve blocks. From there, we’ll build a personalized plan focused on restoring function and improving your quality of life.
Are these procedures covered by insurance?
Most evaluations and surgical procedures are insurance-eligible, but coverage varies by provider and plan. Our intake and patient liaison teams will walk you through any necessary approvals and pre-authorizations.
Do I need a referral to be seen?
No referral is needed for most evaluations. However, if you’re being referred by another provider, we’ll coordinate directly to make the process smooth and fast.
How soon can I get an appointment?
Consults are available on select dates in Ft. Lauderdale and Boynton Beach. These fill quickly, especially for visiting specialists. We recommend requesting an evaluation as early as possible to secure your spot.
